our mission
Better SA exists to promote public policies that will make the San Antonio metropolitan
area a better place to live and work.
We focus on policies that will promote safe and affordable housing, economic growth
and development, strong and effective public safety, and good-paying jobs. Better SA is
non-partisan. We believe good public policies that improve the lives of San Antonians
transcend partisan ideologies.
To achieve this, Better SA works to educate and inform the public and policymakers,
and advocates for policy solutions that will help make San Antonio and our surrounding
communities a better place to live and work.
economic development
We need to prioritize ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT by supporting policies that encourage job
growth, investment, and prosperity, and I will oppose any measures that would impede and restrict
economic development, including any increase in property tax, sales tax, or hotel occupancy tax,
which may burden our citizens and hinder the growth of our local economy.
Affordable Housing
We need to support policies that help create additional HOUSING so that residents have access to
safe and affordable housing options, and I will oppose measures that would hinder their development
or availability, because I believe that we should work to create a community where all residents can
thrive, prosper and have a place to call home.
public safety
We need to prioritize PUBLIC SAFETY by supporting policies that help reduce crime and improve public safety for our residents and businesses, and I will oppose any measure that puts public safety at risk.
quality jobs
We need to prioritize the creation of well-paying, quality JOBS in our city by supporting policies that
encourage economic growth and support businesses that provide such jobs, and I will oppose any
measures that would hinder their creation or availability, because I believe that employment is the
key to a prosperous and vibrant community where all residents can thrive and succeed.
